Air Brake Training
To operate vehicles equipped with air brakes on the highway, you should have an air brake training driver’s license. These are typically larger vehicles, including dump trucks, large transport trucks (i.e., the cabs and trailers) or buses, and motor homes may also have them installed.
There are two types of air brakes :
You need this if you have a B.C. driver’s license and want to drive air brake-equipped vehicles on a highway. A highway includes all roadways that the general public can use.
You need this if you want to operate air brake-equipped vehicles on industrial roads. An industrial road is most often a road used for transporting natural resources. Example: a logging road.
Air Brake Practical Training
In this hands-on practical session, students are taught the proper brake adjustments and air brake inspections procedures. You must take the mandatory air brake course before taking the practical training for your air brakes.
